According to Rolling Stone, American actress Maggie Gyllenhaal has joined the cast of the Irish comedy Frank, set against a backdrop of rock music.
It has not yet been revealed what part Gyllenhaal (Crazy Heart) will be playing. The plot of the film revolves around a musician who is disappointed when he joins a pop rock band fronted by the eccentric Frank (Michael Fassbender).
The film's cast also includes Domhnall Gleeson, son of Brendan Gleeson, who appeared in the Harry Potter saga. Scoot McNairy (Argo) will also feature in this Lenny Abrahamson film based on a screenplay by Peter Straughan (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) and Jon Ronson (The Men Who Stare at Goats).
Filming on Frank should get underway this month in New Mexico before continuing in Dublin.
