White Collar star Matt Bomer is set to star as one of Hollywood's most legendary actors Montgomery Clift in biopic, Monty Clift.
Ira Sachs and Mauricio Zacharias, who penned the acclaimed Love Is Strange, will write the script for the HBO movie, reported People magazine.
Clift starred in classics such as The Heiress, Red River, From Here to Eternity and Judgement at Nuremberg, and was a close friend of Elizabeth Taylor, his costar in 1951's A Place in the Sun and the 1957 Civil War epic, Raintree County.
The biopic will focus on their longtime relationship. He was also gay, although his sexuality, while whispered about, did not become publicly known until the '70s, several years after his 1965 death from a heart attack at the age of 45.
Bomer, 37, who is openly gay, most recently appeared on HBO's The Normal Heart and wrapped filming on the highly anticipated Magic Mike: XXL.
