According to Broadwayworld.com, Meryl Streep is in talks to portray the Witch in the movie adaptation of Into the Woods. The Sondheim musical, which premiered in 1986, follow a baker and his wife in their quest to start a family, the catch being that they've been hit with a curse that prevents them to bear a child.
The website also mentions Anna Kendrick, Patrick Wilson, James Corden and Nina Arianda, who could join the cast. They were all cited in the credits of a reading of the script on October 1.
The casting has a long way to go before being finalized, as Rob Marshall will only be able to take on Into the Woods after completing his work on The Thin Man, starring Johnny Depp.
