German-Irish actor Michael Fassbender will star alongside Domhall Gleeson in upcoming Irish comedy Frank, according to Protagonist Pictures and Film 4.

Penned by the writers of The Men Who Stare at Goats, the movie is billed as the story of a wannabe musician who is up for some disappointment when he joins a pop band led by the enigmatic Frank, played by Fassbender.

Brendan Gleeson's son Domhall is set to play the aspiring popstar who has to cope with Frank's eccentricities. Shooting is scheduled for the end of 2012, under the direction of Lenny Abrahamson.
