According to Variety, Michelle Pfeiffer is in talks to star in Luc Besson's next movie Malavita. Currently on the silver screen in Tim Burton's Dark Shadows, the actress will play Robert De Niro's wife in a comedy about an American mafia family moving to France.
After his biopic The Lady, about Burma's democracy activist Aung San Suu Kyi, Luc Besson will adapt French author Tonino Benacquista's 2004 best-selling novel, with shooting starting in August.
Malavita follows an Italian-American mafia family hidden in Normandy as part of an FBI witness protection program. But instead of keeping a low profile, the clan members will be quick to indulge in their old bad habits.
This movie could even be followed by a sequel as, in 2008, Benacquista published a second book named Malavita encore (Malavita Again).
