Capitalizing on the popularity of The Artist and its likely sweep of the Academy Awards this Sunday, a parody trailer, titled The Scratist, has been released for the upcoming animated film Ice Age: Continental Drift, in black and white and silence.

This summer's fourth installment from the Ice Age franchise will be released in full color and volume, featuring Scrat's thwarted attempts to grab the elusive acorn.

The clip opens on life in 10,000 BC and follows the sloth's attraction, distraction, the catch and the drift.

A non-parody version of the trailer is due on March 5 and will reveal the real story of the sequel's adventure, which finds Manny, Diego, Sid and the herd facing a gang of ragtag pirates trying to prevent them from returning home.

The all-star voice cast includes Jennifer Lopez, Ray Romano, Jeremy Renner, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary, John Leguizamo, Aziz Ansari, Nick Frost, and hip/hop artist Nicki Minaj as a Woolly Mammoth.

An Ice Age video game may also be released in July 2012.
