The man who gave us hits like Notting Hill, Bridget Jones’s Diary and Love Actually is set to retire from directing.
Celebrated British filmmaker Richard Curtis said he is likely to give up directing movies after the release of his latest film, About Time, next month, reported Contactmusic. Starring Rachel McAdams, About Time is due to hit cinemas in August. But Curtis has revealed it will probably be the last film he ever directs.
“I waited a while in order to write (About Time). This probably will be the last film I will direct,” said the 56-year-old.
Asked for the reason behind his decision to quit, he said, “I don't know. Just a feeling... It feels like a summing-up to me. We’ll see how things turn out.”
Curtis has written and produced some of Britain's best-known romantic comedies.
