After playing a mentally derailed ballerina in Black Swan that won her an Oscar, Hollywood actor Natalie Portman has no qualms about starring in comedies now.
The 29-year-old actor, who will be seen as all-action Isabel in the forthcoming fantasy comedy film Your Highness is glad to land up lighter roles and has no hesitations on shifting her image, reported the Daily Mail.
"The big thing I’ve been wanting to do is not be snobby and just do prestige movies, because that’s really limiting - and it’s joyless to do those kind of movies all the time. I don’t want to fit into some mould of respectability. Sometimes it’s just about having fun. I think it’s important to be irreverent and make a point of not meeting other people's expectations,” said Portman.
The star also shared her exiting moments on the sets of the medieval caper and describes the crew of the film as humourous.
“Their dirty jokes made me laugh so much. I wasn’t outraged, although they were scandalous! However, there’s a time and a place for jokes,” she added.
Scheduled to release on April 8, Portman stars alongside actors James Franco, Zooey Deschanel and Danny McBride.
