Actor Rooney Mara was hesitant to sign on as the leading lady in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, out of fear because she felt too much fame would hamper her career.
The 26-year-old beat the likes of Carey Mulligan and Scarlett Johansson to play a young computer-hacker, Lisbeth Salander, in the movie, directed by David Fincher. “That kind of fame is not something I ever wanted. My fear with a movie like this is the kind of exposure you get from it. I think that can be death to an actor,” she says.
