Variety reports that Jonathan Mostow (Terminator 3, Surrogates) will replace Phillip Noyce to helm the indie production, For the Dogs. This project, announced back in January, is back on the table with this swap of directors.

This screen adaptation of Kevin Wignall's novel of the same name follows a former hitman turned bodyguard for a friend's daughter. Worthington will also help the student get revenge for the murder of her loved ones.

Oren Moverman (The Messenger, Rampart) contributed to the script of For the Dogs. Production is set to begin this fall, with Sam Worthington as one of the lead characters but also as a producer via his company, Full Clip Productions.
