San Andreas mirrors Nepal Earthquake: 5 times when real followed reel

With Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson headlining it, San Andreas was the perfect summer blockbuster. A disaster film about a LA-based search and rescue helicopter pilot's personal mission to find and save his estranged daughter as a magnitude 9 earthquake destroys California and brings a Tsunami in its wake.

Only, real life tragedy struck a month before the film's release date. Nepal's devastating 7.8 magnitude quake killed 10,000 people and left thousands homeless. While the film continued with its May 29 release date, it considerably toned down its promotional campaign.

It was not the first time when films mirrored reality in an eerie coincidence. We bring you five films which were overtaken by real-life tragedies. From plane crashes to gruesome murders, these few times, life turned to be far more grisly than anything on screen.
