Sania Mirza says that she is in talks for her biopic, but she won’t be seen acting in the film.

At 29, she has released her autobiography, and now, a biopic on her might be on its way. Tennis ace Sania Mirza, who is currently ranked No. 1 in the women’s doubles rankings, says, “There have been talks about it (biopic). Some from the film industry have approached me... talks are in advanced stage, but we are yet to finalise things.”

Which actor will portray her on screen is also “still pending”. Make a suggestion that she might as well act in the biopic, considering she was seen on TV in a dance reality show, and Sania says, “Definitely won’t be me! I am a good tennis player and not a good actor, you should do what you are good at.”

Another reason for not turning actor is that Sania is shy. “I am too shy to act on camera,” she says, adding: “I don’t have the time, tennis is my priority at the moment... and I am not thinking of retiring anytime soon.”

She is a sportsperson whose style and looks get discussed as much as her on-field performance, but that doesn’t affect Sania’s priorities. “Our endorsement is not because of how we look or our marital status, it is about our performance. I don’t even care how I look while playing... even when so many people are watching,” she says.
