Veteran Jazz singer Tony Bennett is to be the subject of a new documentary directed by his manager son Danny. Danny has struck an exclusive deal with US Dvd distribution company Netflix to release a candid film about his father, titled The Zen Of Bennett, the Hollywood Reporter said.
Danny used footage from 150 hours of recordings made during the studio sessions for his father's Duets II album, which featured collaborations with Lady Gaga and the late Amy
The film will premiere at two yet-to-be confirmed filmfestivals this year before it becomes available to stream via Netflix.com.
"It really is Tony talking first-person about philosophies, about family, art, music and how he has survived 60 years in this business," Danny said.
But the filmmaker is sure the highlight of the documentary will be his father's studio chats with Winehouse. "You will see the recording with Amy and his discussions with her about her troubles," he added.
