Hollywood actor and TV show host Ellen DeGeneres broke the record for the most number of retweets with a selfie that included the likes of stars like Brad Pitt, Jared Leto and Bradley Cooper, among others, during this year’s Oscar ceremony.

Sony Pictures Hack: Recently, a group of hackers, Guardians of Peace (later identified to be from North Korea), leaked several “highly confidential” e-mails of Sony Pictures. Actor Angelina Jolie blasted by producer Scott Rudin as “Minimally talented spoiled brat”, Leonardo DiCaprio called “Despicable” by Sony Head, George Clooney’a case of insomnia with his flops, and the leak of the upcoming James Bond film script — were some of the e-mails that made headlines.
No More Interview!
After the hacks, the same hackers gave Sony another mini heart attack when they threatened to destroy thetheatres “9/11 style”, where they were to release the James Franco and Seth Rogen starrer, The Interview. The production house took the unpopular decision to not release the film, even though US President Barack Obama said, “I’d want the people to go to the movies”.
The September Issue
In September, another group of hackers broke into private accounts of many stars and leaked many nude pictures. This “Celebgate” included Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence, actors Kaley Cuoco and Kirsten Dunst, among others.
Machos Lose To Geeks
In August, the multi-starrer action flick, The Expendables 3, was leaked all over the Net just before its release. The third in the series, it could only fetch a mere $39 million in the US, against $85 and $103 million for the previous ones respectively.
