The face-off between Spidey and Batman, set up by the China Film Group on Monday, August 27, turned to the Marvel super-hero's advantage. According to Deadline.com, The Amazing Spider-Man already raked in $5.46 million in 2,515 theaters across the nation on its first day, while The Dark Knight Rises grossed $4.45 million in 2,400 venues.

Batman got its revenge at the worldwide box-office, taking in $942.1 million against $704.9 million for The Amazing Spider-Man.
