Spyce girl on a roll

Saoirse Ronan may only be 17, but the American teen is a well established actor already and plays the lead in Hanna, an upcoming spy thriller. Talking about her role of an assassin in the film, Ronan says, “It was a hard film to make physically. I had to do a lot of fight scenes. I did everything myself. If there was something that was dangerous, the stunt double would take over. But I was very much involved. So it was tiring But fun too.”

A peculiar feature about Ronans’ look is her eyebrows. “At the start of filming I was very conscious of the fact that I had no eyebrows and it’s funny because it was about one season before the bleached eyebrows look came in. Last year models had bleached eyebrows so I was one season ahead!” Ronan says.

The young actor also had to undergo stunt training for the film. “It’s fantastic to do that physical stuff. My dad has been involved in martial arts since childhood. I loved it and it was satisfying. When you do the fight choreography it feels like a dance because it’s graceful. The style that Jeff Imada, the stunt coordinator, came up with was very graceful for me and suited the character perfectly. I also got to work with guns and knives and bow and arrows that was brilliant. I mean, not many get to do that” Ronan says.
