Last year was full of surprises for Dianna Agron. The actor, who is known for her portrayal of Quinn Fabray in the hit TV music series, Glee, never imagined that the show would get her a role in a film produced by Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg.
“I met Steven through a friend who is in casting at Dreamworks. I was awestruck that he had two words to say to me, especially when he said, ‘really wanted to say congratulations and great job with Glee.’ I couldn’t even breathe,” says Agron, adding that what came out of her mouth following that, was barely even a sentence. Initially, her schedule with Glee and the tour didn’t seem like it could accommodate dates for the film, but the producers at Fox and Dreamworks went the extra mile to set aside enough time for the shoot.
While Glee Season 2 is currently on air, they have already got a sanction for Season 3. “I told my agent that I would play a tree in the script (of Glee) if I could have a meeting,” she says, recollecting the day she was signed on. “I went into the casting office to call my manager and agent to tell them I got in and the footage of Finn Hudson (Cory Monteith) singing in the shower (Season 1, episode 1) was being played. It gave me the chills!” Of the many surprises that Season 2 is going to throw up, one of the main ones will be Gwyneth Paltrow’s return to the show. “As a matter of fact, she is filming her next episode right now. We have so much fun when she’s around!”
As for the on-going romance between Agron and Sam Evans (Chord Overstreet) in the show, that will soon come to an end. Reportedly, the final episode of the season may see Quinn and Finn’s character get back together. “Sam is very good to Quinn, but at the same time, it is not enough for her. I call his character the Golden Retriever Puppy, he always means well, always wants to be around, but Quinn’s quite sophisticated and sure about herself. So that doesn’t always work,” says Agron.
Considering the cast of Glee is known for their stellar dancing and singing, has she never considered acting in the one film industry that is known for its ‘dancing and singing’? “I love India’s vibrance, clothes, culture and food… nothing is dull or bland. And of course, I would take up an offer to work in a Bollywood film!” she says.
Though she doesn’t know much about Season 3 to reveal anything, she does says, “There will be some new characters; not sure who specifically will be the juniors and seniors. But it’s quite possible that a few of us graduate next year.”
