20th Century Fox took to social networks to reveal the first poster for Ridley Scott’s upcoming picture Alien: Covenant, which has also changed its release date.
“Run” reads the scary tagline above the terrifying face of a Neomorph, a creature that could cause serious problems for the crew of the spaceship Covenant. Fans of the franchise will no doubt notice the being’s physical resemblance to the Xenomorphs, used by Ridley Scott in the first Alien movie, released in 1979.

As well as unveiling the poster, Fox has announced a new release date for the film. Initially expected August 4, 2017 in US theatres, Alien: Covenant has been switched to May 19. The movie will now open against the horror film Annabelle 2 and the big-screen Baywatch adaptation.
Fans are now eagerly awaiting the movie’s first trailer. This could be unveiled as soon as next month alongside the release of Assassin’s Creed (December 21). As well as being produced by the same studio (20th Century Fox), both pictures have the same star, Michael Fassbender.
Alien: Covenant will pick up the story after the events of Prometheus, released in 2012, and follows the crew of the colony spaceship Covenant. Arriving on a hostile planet, the intergalactic travellers discover David 8, a humanoid robot played by Michael Fassbender, the only survivor from the Prometheus scientific expedition.
Noomi Rapace is set to return in the upcoming instalment, joined by new faces such as Katherine Waterston, Demian Bichir and Danny McBride.
