The Last Jedi gets 8-bit video game style trailer treatment, film director approves
If you loved the trailer of Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi , this 8-bit recreation will make you fall in love with it once again.
We finally got a look at the much-awaited trailer of Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi a few weeks back, and it almost broke the Internet. Fans started speculating about the film’s story, discussing the “awesomeness of the trailer” and even requested the production house on social media asking for more from the film.
If that wasn’t enough for the fans of the Star Wars franchise, there’s now an epic 8-bit video game style recreation of the trailer. Uplaoded on Youtube by JoBlo Videos, the video is a great nostalgia trip with its 8-bit look, voice over text boxes and recognizable vintage video game MIDI soundtrack. Check it out here:
Not only does the video nail the scenes from the live-action trailer, but also adds to their grandeur. Parts of the two-minute clip have also been re-imagined, such as Rey’s training with Luke Skywalker, the Resistance ships on Crait, the cutest 8-bit version of BB8, and the attacks from the First Order. Social media loved the trailer, but it became more of a thing when director of the movie Rian Johnson shared his thoughts about it on Twitter:
