Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle’s new film 127 Hours ran into trouble at the Toronto Film Festival, after angry crowds threatened to boycott the screening over lack of seats and delay.
The filmmaker had to step in to calm the waiting crowds after the film started over an hour late because of technical problems. The festival’s organisers also under-estimated the number of seats needed.
“It was a total nightmare. Another hour and the scene could have turned really nasty,” said the British filmmaker. Boyle later apologised to the audience for the delay.
