Unintentional Jurassic World slur against Pakistanis causes furore

Jurassic World has found itself embroiled in an unintentional controversy over a dinosaur's name.

A dinosaur called Pachycephalosaurus is the cause of it all. It is pronounced (pak-ee-sef-a-low-sor -us), and the lizard-like creature has a habit of escaping its enclosure. Since the name of the dinosaur is rather long, one of the film's characters refers to it by an abbreviated version, saying: "The Pachys are out of containment!"

The Jurassic World line has created a major furore on social media sites as many are planning to boycott the movie over the alleged racial slur, the Independent has reported.

Phonetically, the word sounds like the British racial slur 'Paki', an insulting term used for Pakistani immigrants.

British Asian comedian Guzzy Bear has called for a 'boycott' of the film in a hilarious video uploaded to YouTube. It has lead to many mock tweets, asking for Jurassic World to be banned.
