He undresses to conquer. We are talking about Benedict Cumberbatch, the British actor who is quite the rage at present. After delivering what was probably the best ALS Ice Bucket Challenge video, the Sherlock star has now gone ahead and taken off his shirt (almost) for charity.
This recreation of the famous lake scene from Pride and Prejudice gives The Imitation Game actor his very own Mr Darcy moment. All the hallmarks of the scene, originally done by Colin Firth, are there in this image -- a wet white shirt, a lake and a smouldering expression.
The photograph is part of 'Give Up Clothes for Good' campaign benefitting cancer research. The initiative requests people to donate clothes to clothing brand, TK Maxx, in England. They are then sold in Cancer Research charity shops to raise funds, particularly for children suffering from the disease.
Cumberbatch is not the only star posing either. His photograph is part of an exhibition marking the 10th anniversary of the Give Up Clothes For Good campaign and features other celebrities such as Jerry Hall, Liam Neeson, Mel C and Charlie Hunnam. The photos went on display on Tuesday at La Galleria Pall Mall in London where they will be kept until September 20.
Ever since it began, the Give Up Clothes for Good charity has raised over £17.6 million for Cancer Research UK.
Just in case you are wondering who did it better, we are also giving you Colin Firth's lake scene here.
