What if Kong: Skull Island were made in the style of 1933’s original King Kong? Perhaps it would look a little like this vintage effect trailer for the 2017 theatrical release.

Title cards presented in a suitably monstrous font, grainy high-contrast black and white scenes, and stirring brass and string section accompaniments are sprinkled throughout the novelty treatment.

Kong: Skull Island stars Brie Larson and Tom Hiddleston as members of an expedition to a lost island. International release commences the week of March 10 2017.
