Superhero Carol Danvers, also known as Captain Marvel, will reportedly feature in Avengers: Infinity War Part I.
According to entertainment website Heroic Hollywood, the actor cast in the role of Captain Marvel will be on set by the time Avengers: Infinity War Part I begins filming in Atlanta in November later this year, reports aceshowbiz.com.
Recent Oscar-winner Brie Larson and MMA star Ronda Rousey are among the names who are rumoured to take Captain Marvel’s role in the film.
The report comes after Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige made a statement that Captain Marvel cast announcements are coming before summer’s end.
Feife said that the solo movie would centre on Danvers’ “journey to being Captain Marvel”.
Created by writer Roy Thomas and designed by artist Gene Colan, Major Carol Danvers first appeared as a member of the United States Air Force in Marvel Super-Heroes #13 (March 1968) and debuted as the first incarnation of Ms. Marvel in Ms. Marvel #1 (January 1977) after a fusion of alien Kree and human genes gives her superhuman powers, which occurred in Captain Marvel #18 (November 1969).
Meanwhile, popular superheroes Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and Spider-Man (Tom Holland) will make their debut in the Marvel franchise with the film Captain America: Civil War.
