Man of Steel remains on the podium after raking in $73 million over the weekend; the new Superman franchise adventure has broken the $500 million barrier since its release.
Despicable Me 2, which can only be seen in seven countries in the world, came in fourth ($41.5 million), ahead of the police action comedy The Heat starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy ($40 million).
