The Aamir actor is all set to star opposite Konkona Sen Sharma in debutant director Neerav Ghosh’s film Soundtrack. The musical comedy is produced by Sa Re Ga Ma. In the movie, Rajeev plays a musician. A source tells Mumbai Mirror, "Rajeev is not playing a rock star like Ranbir is in Imtiaz Ali’s next film. Rajeev is playing a music composer and he sports a very interesting look in the film, which is currently being kept under wraps."

To portray his role convincingly Rajeev is learning to play some musical instruments for the role.

The source also informs about Konkona's role in the film, “Though Konkona is playing the female lead in the film, there is a second female character in the film and the producers are waiting to cast a relatively new girl for that part.”
