Iconic US bike maker Harley Davidson is looking to spread its presence into India's smaller towns.
“We will add four showrooms to the existing nine by the end of next year,” said Anoop Prakash, managing director, Harley Davidson India. These would be at places such as Jaipur and Pune,
he said.

He was talking to reporters while launching the Fat Bob bike, priced at Rs. 12.8 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Fat Bob is the sixth Harley model to be assembled in the company’s plant at Bawal in Haryana.

“The kind of enthusiasm we had received in a place like Kochi was the same as in any metro,” Prakash said, adding that the Harley Rock Riders concert in places like Shillong and Guwahati were sold out.

He said the firm will clock cumulative sales of over 2,000 units by 2012 end. Harley started its India operations in 2010.
