Auto Express reports that the car manufacturer, a division of the Volkswagen Group, could follow in the footsteps of Skoda and Seat by launching its own version of the small city car, only outfitted with a more refined interior, by 2015.
Audi's ambition to launch its own small city car will most likely lead to the development of an Audi-branded version of the Volkswagen Up!, based on the same platform as the Skoda Citigo and the Seat Mii, but with a premium interior to match the prestigious Audi name.
According to Auto Express, the future Audi city car, tentatively named the A0, will have LED headlights, leather seating, a built-in infotainment system and a wide selection of light alloy wheels.
Under the hood, the future A0 could be powered by a 110hp engine, making it much more powerful than the Up! or than Volkswagen’s electric version, the e-Up!, unveiled at the last Frankfurt Motor Show.
