The central government’s department of science and technology is inviting applications from eligible candidates for `Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE)’, a component of INSPIRE. A total of 10,000 scholarships are available annually under SHE. The scholarships are limited only to candidates studying natural/basic sciences in BSc, BSc (hons), integrated MSc/MS courses in any recognised institution in India. The scheme in its current format does not include courses in engineering, medicine, technology and other professional/ applied science courses.

Eligibility: Students who are among the top 1% in Class 12 in their respective board exams and are pursuing BSc or integrated MSc in natural and basic sciences

Last date to apply: 120 days from the date of advertisement (Hindustan Times June 20)

Those with a bachelor’s degree in ­agriculture or forestry may also apply. Candidates who are in the final year of their BSc/MSc are also eligible.

KC Mahindra Scholarships 2014

KC Mahindra Education Trust will offer interest-free loan ­scholarships to Indian nationals for postgraduate studies abroad in various fields. The maximum amount for the scholarship will be Rs. 2 lakh per scholar, except for the three KC Mahindra fellow scholarships for which the ­maximum amount will be Rs. 8 lakhs per scholar.
