In an attempt to engage Indian students and teachers in cross-cultural understanding and bonding with their Japanese counterparts, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked principals to send in student and teacher nominations for Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youth Programme (JENESYS).

According to the letter issued by the ministry of human resource development (MHRD), a group of 182 students will be visiting  Japan as part of JENESYS.
CBSE is encouraging teachers and students to be a part of the JENESYS programme so as to deepen mutual understanding among youngsters and to lay the foundation for a future bond among the youth in Asian and Oceanian countries along with mutual understanding and friendship.

The programme seeks to establish the basis of Asia’s solidarity and to promote interests in Japan through various exchange programmes.

CBSE proposes to nominate 350 students and 30 teachers for the programme.

The principals of the schools affiliated to CBSE have been asked to nominate students for each category and one teacher from the school.

The programme is being conducted by the Embassy of Japan and the Japanese Government. The last date for nominations is July 23, 2014. Visit here for details.
