For those of you interested in going abroad for higher studies, here are some attractive scholarships on offer. Applications are open for the India New Zealand Sports Cooperation Scholarships (INZSS). The NZISS are scholarships for Indian students intending to pursue bachelor’s degrees, graduate diplomas or postgraduate sports related programmes at New Zealand universities, Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics in 2015. The scholarships form part of the New Zealand Prime Ministers’ Education Initiative between New Zealand and India.

The scholarships cover one year of full time study, and include full tuition fees and associated student levies for one academic year, paid direct to the NZ institution and a $15,000 contribution to living costs pro-rata, one year only. Indian citizens are eligible for these scholarships. The disciplines for which the scholarships will be given include sport and exercise science or sport and exercise management, sport and recreation. The deadline for submitting applications is October 3, 2014.

Charles Wallace India Trust (CWIT) Scholarships are also open for Indian students. CWIT enables Indians in the early to mid stages of their careers to spend time in the UK, helping them to achieve artistic, academic and professional ambitions and to broaden their international contacts.

Applications for Charles Wallace Long Term awards 2015-16 will be accepted till November 15, 2014 at the nearest British Council centre. Visit here for details.

The Asian Peacebuilders Scholarships (APS) 2015/2016 are also open to Indian students. The objective of the programme is to train young Asian professionals to become peace-building practitioners, willing to work with organisations across the globe.
The programme offers intensive, specialised language training to facilitate participation of professionals with lower levels of English proficiency, as well as the hands-on design and implementation of an intensive field project in Asia. The scholarship covers all tuition fees, the language-training module, academic materials, air travel, living expenses and basic insurance. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from a reputable institution and should demonstrate a compelling desire to work on issues related to peace and conflict. The application deadline is August 28, 2014. Visit for more.
