If you want to go to a college where everybody is involved in co-curricular activities, head to St Andrew’s. Located in a prime loation in Hill Road at Bandra, Andrew’s is visible in many college festivals.

On 1 January 1981, Mother Theresa MC, Nobel Laureate inaugurated the St. Andrew’s College of Arts, Science and Commerce. The college was started when Archbishop Simon Pimenta felt the need for a new Catholic college in the suburbs that would offer courses like BA, BCom and BSc. The first phase of the construction of 18 classrooms of the college was completed in June 1986 and solemnly blessed on St. Andrew’s Feast Day, 30 November 1986.

Subsequently the chapel, the library, the administrative block, the students' common rooms were constructed. Since more rooms were required two new floors with 18 classrooms were added in 2002. The latest addition is the annexe, which was completed in the Jubilee Year 2007 – 2008.

Studies and facilities

A student has a lot to gain from going to Andrews for I think students there are encouraged to develop their personalities to be not just successful professionals but also hardworking human beings with values.”

Student Speak: Steffi Pereira (TYBA)

College life is something which cannot be compared to any other phase of your life. This is something that every Andrean believes in. So do I. Life at Andrews is the best phase of my life and I will always remember these moments. The place has it all- studies along with entertainment and fun.

The best thing about Andrews is that it has a lot of co-curricular activities and plenty of sports. We are always engaged in either college festivals or educational outings. In my opinion, we have an excellent enthusiastic student crowd. When it comes to the professors and the staff, they are more like friends. They help in class as well as outside class. Very friendl and supportive...explains exactly what our professors are!

The best hangout in our college is 'Cafe Andre- our canteen with good hygenic food and service. Outside college, the famous hangout spots for us students are ''ganawala''and "andoras" which is the closest snack bar to our college.

Coming to the co-curicullar activities, we have various college festivals like:

AWMTC: it’s all about music. Students flaunt their talent of having this beautiful art form of singing and playing a musical instrument.

Jhankaar, which is an inter-college dance fest. where different colleges participate by putting up group dances and put the stage on fire.

Olio is an inter-college dramatic competition where students from different colleges participate by showing their acting skills and there is a ''Best Play'' award given out.

There dramatics and dance workshops. There is a drama club wherein we have professionals training our students for both drama as well as dance.

Finally, there is XYZ- : ''Xzibit Your Zing'', a feat held by the BMS students. Itis all about dance performances and singing performances, quizzes, a fashion show, Mr. and Mrs XYZ which come out with many fresh faces and good performances.

Every Andreas grows up better with the talent they are known for with the help of these co-curricular activities.
"All work and no play make Jack a dull boy...!! " Clearly , we have no Jacks in our college because it’s not only about studying but also about our talents and interests here at Andrews. Proud to be an Andrean !
