MS Dhoni’s unique way of handling pressure in ICC Champions Trophy 2017
MS Dhoni decided to spend some quality time with his wife and daughter ahead of the India vs South Africa clash in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 clashicc champions trophy 2017 Updated: Jun 11, 2017 16:57 IST
India are in a rare do-or-die situation in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 and will take on South Africa to seal a berth in the semifinal but for former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the best way to keep the pressure off was to spend quality time with his family.
His wife Sakshi Dhoni recently put up a picture on her Instagram account in which the swashbuckling right-handed batsman could be seen enjoying his meal while their daughter Ziva is busy drawing on sheets of paper. Captioned as ‘Family Time,’ the adorable moment immediately went viral on social media and had close to 140k likes on Instagram itself. Sakshi has shared pictures and videos of the trio on previous occasions as well and her Instagram account is full of such moments.
Dhoni, a veteran of such pressure games, would want to stay as calm as possible ahead of the game. India had beaten Pakistan in their first group game before losing against Sri Lanka. South Africa, too, are in a similar situation as they lost to Pakistan, currently World No 8, after they had won their first game against Sri Lanka.
This is not the first time that Dhoni has shared a wonderful moment with his daughter on Instagram. In February, Dhoni put up a video where he is playing with his daughter on the occasion of Valentine’s Day.
There are clouds hovering over London today as well and showers are expected. A washout would ensure India go through and if there’s a similar outcome in the last game between Pakistan and Sri Lanka would see South Africa qualify on net-run rate as well.
