A picnic trip turned ugly on Thursday when a school bus carrying 15 passengers hit a road kerb and turned turtle, injuring 13 students and two teachers.

The school bus of Green Way School, Khulmulla, Ganderbal, 20 km north-east of Srinagar, was on its way to the picnic spot of Pahalgam, 100 km away from Srinagar.
The school bus met with the accident near Foreshore Road on the banks of the Dal lake in Srinagar in the morning. Apparently, the driver lost control and hit the central divider.

Eyewitnesses said the bus hit the central verge with a bang and turned turtle.
Passersby rushed to rescue the children. Thirteen children and two teachers sustained injuries in the accident. All the injured were shifted to nearby hospital, where their condition was stated to be stable.
