17 killed in multi-vehicle collision in Rajasthan

At least 17 people were killed and 15 others including six army personnel were injured on Tuesday in multi-vehicle collision in Rajasthan's Pali district, police said.

A car collided with a jeep after which both the vehicles hit a tanker, which overturned and crashed into a military jeep near Netra area, ASP Pali Prasann Kumar said.

Seventeen people were killed in the accidents and 15 injured have been rushed to nearby hospitals, he said.

Six among the injured are Army personnel who were on their way to Udaipur from Jodhpur, a defence spokesperson said, adding that an inquiry has been ordered by the Army authorities.

Four out of the total injured are stated to be critical, district collector Neeraj K Pawan said.
