2 accused of outraging German woman's modesty surrender

Two employees of Haryana Roadways, accused of outraging the modesty of a German woman tourist inside a bus, on Friday surrendered before Pushkar police.

Driver Santlal and conductor Mahendra Singh were arrested after they surrendered and would be paraded before the tourist in the police station, Pushkar station house officer Hanumanaram told reporters in Ajmer.

A Rajasthan police team went to Haryana and asked the roadways authorities to send the two for interrogation, he said.

Alexandra, the German national, on May 20 filed an FIR that the driver and conductor outraged her modesty on May 16 during her journey from Ajmer to Pushkar when no other passenger was in the bus.

A case under Section 354 of IPC (criminal assault to outrage the modesty of a woman) was registered against the two, Hanumanaram said.

She was booked under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotrophic Substances Act for allegedly possessing 603 gm of charas on November 10, 2006 along with two other accomplices.
