The incident took place at Ranjan village under Gharota police station and came to light when the victim lodged an FIR in the morning.

The girl alleged that drivers Tarsem Singh (Gyan) and Shammi, both from her village, dragged her from the house to the fields before raping her. Medical examination of the woman confirmed rape.

"We started a manhunt immediately and arrested both the accused within 12 hours," said Gharota station house officer Ratan Singh.
