30-year-old Bihar nurse gangraped, 3 held

A 30-year-old nurse was allegedly gangraped by three men in Saharsa on Friday evening when she was returning home from the private clinic where she works.


The accused, identified as Mohammad Mauzib, Mohammad Sajin and Mohammad Lal Babu, all residents of Fakir Tola where the victim also lives, were arrested.

“All three have been arrested after the victim named them in the FIR,” said Saharsa superintendent of police (SP) Ajit Kumar Satyarthi on Saturday.

“They forcibly took me to a nearby orchard where they raped me. Somebody found me lying unconscious there and took me to a hospital,” said the nurse in the police statement that she gave from her hospital bed.

The clothes of the victim, mother of two children, have been seized. “We will get them scientifically examined,” the SP said. He said the police were also looking into the role of Mohammad Firoz, who had brought the nurse to the hospital after the alleged rapists left her unconscious in the orchard.

Neighbour rapes teen
A minor girl was allegedly raped by a youth from her neighbourhood in Shivbadi area in the district, police said on Saturday.

The accused, identified as Sanjay, a college student, forcibly took the 16-year-old to his house on Thursday night and raped her, they said.

A 12-year-old girl was allegedlyraped by a cook, working with the National Institute of Sports in Patiala. Ram Verma, 45, raped the victim, a relative, at his official residence.
