5 killed in road mishap near Wardha

Five persons were killed when a car dashed against a truck coming from opposite direction at Shirpur near Wardha, some 125 kms from here on early Thursday.

According to reports reaching here, the tragedy occurred when a group of youngsters were heading to Ghantanji in Yavatmal district from Nagpur after purchasing a new brand car. The car was hit by a truck coming from opposite direction in the wee hours on Thursday.

All the five persons died on the spot, reports said. They have been identified as: Amol Gode, Akash Giri, Sumit Kamble, Ajay Kumre and Rahul Fuse. All the victims were at the age group between 20 and 25.

The truck driver has been arrested.
