50 girls suffer harassment, skip school in Rewari

Harassed and stalked by a group of boys on their way to school, around 50 girls of classes 8, 9 and 10 have been forced to bunk school for a week in Rewari district.

The panchayats of Sumo and Katopuri villages, where the girls belong, said they had lodged a complaint with the police in this regard but nothing came of it.

An attempt had also been made to resolve the issue at the panchayat level, but the youths of Lala village refused to listen to them. Rewari SSP Bharti Arora said, "Two youths have been arrested and others would be rounded up soon to prevent such things."
