About six people of a family were killed when their house collapsed due to rains at Markhola village in Uttarakhand’s Pauri district on Saturday, officials said.
The incident occurred at around 7.30pm when the victims were inside the house.
The landslides in the area delayed the rescue operation as the disaster management personnel were facing difficulties in reaching the spot, district disaster management officer PL Shah said.
Shah said that the Markhola village totally cut off from the district headquarter and the details of the victims are still not available.
The total death toll due to rains and natural disasters in this monsoon season has reached 88, while five people are still missing, as per information shared by the state emergency operation group.
