As many as nine people, including five police officials, were injured on Saturday in a grenade attack by suspected militants in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district, officials said.
The grenade was thrown at a police patrol in Muran Chowk in Pulwama town, 32-km south of Srinagar, at around 4 pm, PTI reported quoting unnamed officials.  The place is also near Shopian town, where the paramilitary CRPF this afternoon gunned down four persons it claimed were militants but residents say were innocent.
The site of the attack was immediately cordoned off and the injured were rushed to hospital, the officials said adding a hunt was on to nab the militants involved in the attack.

No militant outfit has claimed responsbility for the attack so far.
