Govt should lodge protest with China on incursion: BJP

BJP said on Monday that the government should lodge protest with China of its troops' incursion in Ladakh in Kashmir. According to reports, the Chinese troops breached the international border and painted 'China' on some boulders and rocks near Mount Gya. These boulders were later found by an Indian patrol team in July. However, the Chinese Foreign Ministry denied reports of any incursion.

India not downplaying threat perception from China

Although India’s economic ties with China are being reinforced, it will not be at the cost of downplaying possible threat perception, India's junior Defence Minister MM Pallam Raju said in Kolkata on Tuesday. The two countries recently resumed talks in New Delhi to settle the border dispute along the Himalayan stretch.

PLA replaces China border police in Ladakh

With fresh reports of incursion in Ladakh, Nawang Norboo, Councillor of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council on Tuesday said that Chinese troops frequently intrude into Indian territory and even threaten Indian shepherds. Indian media reports say the Chinese troops had entered nearly 1.5 kilometres into the Indian territory near Mount Gya, which is recognised as an international border by both India and China. However, the Chinese Foreign Ministry denied reports of any incursion.
