Nupur Talwar, charged with the murders of her daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj and in jail for more than four months, is to be released September 25.
The Supreme Court Monday granted bail to the dentist, who will be released by the Ghaziabad session’s court, which is trying the sensational double-murder case, in a week’s time. Until then, the CBI has to complete the examination of all “crucial witnesses”.
“The court has given a week’s time to the CBI to examine the remaining of the 13 witnesses or any other crucial witness after which the trial court will release Nupur,” her counsel Sandeep Kapoor said.
Nupur’s dentist husband Rajesh Talwar, another accused, is on bail since July 11, 2008. The couple also face charges of destroying evidence.
Nupur, who surrendered on April 30, moved the apex court after the Allahabad high court refused her bail. Aarushi, 14, was found murdered in her bedroom at the Talwars’ Noida residence on May 16, 2008. A day later, Hemraj was found dead on the terrace of the house.
