The city police on Thursday rescued a 28-year-old Gurgaon-based property dealer from the neighbouring Jind district after he was abducted earlier in the day by four men from New Colony.

All the four abductors have been nabbed, said deputy commissioner of police (west) Surinder Pal.

According to the police, victim Sunny Makhija, hailing from Hisar, has been living with his wife in New Colony for the last one-and-a-half years.

On Thursday morning, Makhija had stepped out of his house to buy groceries from a nearby shop when four unidentified men abducted him.

Three of the four accused assaulted the victim and whisked him away in their car.

After being informed of the abduction by the victim’s brother, the police set up several checkposts in the city to nab the accused. Several police teams were formed to carry out the day-long operations to rescue Makhija and they remained on their toes to arrest the abductors.
