With ruling AIADMK (Amma) faction deputy general secretary TTV Dinakaran facing a possible arrest, efforts are on to bring the two warring factions of the party together in Tamil Nadu.
A nine-member team of AIADMK (Amma) leaders has been formed to negotiate with the O Panneerselvam camp to draw up a merger formula.
The Panneerselvam camp has only one condition for talks -- VK Sasikala, who leads the ruling faction, and controls the government has to step down.

2.40 pm: The Madras high court on Tuesday granted anticipatory bail to the son and brother of former chief minister O Panneerselvam in a rioting case related to the RK Nagar assembly bypoll campaign.
2.10 pm: No demands made by OPS till now, he only said he wants to work unitedly. We are ready to talk whenever he wants to, says C Ve Shanmugam, Tamil Nadu minister.
1.50 pm: Chief minister K Palaniswami has stressed for unity in taking the ruling AIADMK and its government forward, senior party leader KA Sengottaiyan said.
1.40 pm: “During the election campaigning in RK Nagar many malpractices were done and Rs. 4,000 was offered to each voter. We submitted all this to the Election Commission yesterday and asked to inquire into the matter,” Panneerselvam said.
1.20 pm: Panneerselvam also says that the elevation of Sasikala was not in accordance with the bylaws of the party. Sasikala’s elevation and her subsequent actions is null and void, he added.
1.10 pm: Panneerselvam tweets that the medical treatment provided to Jayalalithaa should be made transparent with an enquiry to the same.
