The district administration has completed arrangements for depositing the cash subsidy of domestic gas cylinders in the bank accounts of consumers from December 1.
"Initially, the scheme will start in Ambala, Sonepat, Panchkula, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal and Faridabad districts," deputy commissioner (DC) Nikhil Gajraj told a officials and dealers of gas agencies at the mini-secretariat hall here on Friday.
The DC said the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) dealers had a relevant pro forma for taking the scheme's benefit. Besides, consumers could give their names, gas consumer number, bank account and Aadhar card numbers on a plain paper.
Gajraj said it was mandatory for the consumers to mention their Aadhar numbers along with the account numbers. He directed the gas agencies that in case of those consumers who had deposited their Aadhar numbers with them, they should forward unique identity numbers to the lead bank manager through the district food and supplies controller (DFSC), and the banks would add these to the accounts of the consumers.
He asked the people to get registered or they could not avail the benefit of the gas subsidy. The DC said that to streamline the work, a committee led by the additional deputy commissioner (ADC), Yash Garg had been constituted with the DFSC and the district public relation officer (DPRO) as its members.
