The BJP on Saturday denied that the party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will be attending a fund-raising dinner on March 26 at the Ashoka Hotel in New Delhi.
"This information is baseless. We have never conceived any such programme," senior BJP leader Prakash Javadekar told television channels on Saturday, reacting to a news report published in HT headlined: For dinner date with Modi, pay Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2.4 cr.

"Our programme is 'tea with Modi' and not 'dinner with Modi with a price tag'," Javadekar said.
In a statement, the BJP said: "The unattributed reports linking Shri Modi to any such events are baseless and motivated."
However, according to an email communication circulated amongst potential participants, a non-governmental organisation raising funds for the campaign did plan the fund-raiser dinner at the Ashoka Hotel on March 26.
