Narendra Modi on Tuesday waded into the troubled waters of Andhra Pradesh, whose imminent division has created a political storm in the country, to attack the Congress leadership, saying Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi had no time to visit the troubled state.

"Congress is drunk on power; it can't see the plight of people of Seemandhra. Congress leaders don't have time to listen to the problems of Seemandhra and Telangana," Modi told an election rally in Devangere area of the state.

"Congress leaders are silent even when there is so much unrest among Seemandhra people. People of Seemandhra need support from us but Congress doesn't have time for them," Modi said.

Seemandhra, comprising Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra, is what will remain of Andhra Pradesh when Telangana is carved out of it.

People of this region feel the bifurcation will leave them at a disadvantage. Dissent against Congress has been on the rise here and several Congress MPs from this region were expelled when they revolted against the party's support for the division.

Launching a scathing attack on the Congress and Gandhi-Nehru family, he said to secure the future of the country, it "is necessary to get rid of the Congress".

The ruling party, he said, has all the four elements that are inimical to democracy---dynasty politics, casteism, communalism and opportunism.

"It is anti-democratic to the core and it can never become the voice of the people in a democracy. That is why it has become a party of leisure and merry making for a few," Modi said.

Mocking at Congress claim that it has no high command, Modi said, "How do they get away with saying these things? How can they even say? Do you believe them? Has Congress no high command? A family has complete hold over the party and they dare to say there is no high command.

"They claim Congress is an idea. It was an idea when Mahatma Gandhi was alive. It ceased to be an idea when fake Gandhis surfaced. Today, its leadership is lost into a thought," he said.
