A day after AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal took on Narendra Modi in his Varanasi rally, the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate struck back at AAP, calling it Team ‘B’ of the Congress.

A visibly angry Modi, during his rally at Shastri Park in Northeast Delhi, said that soon after forming a government in Delhi, Kejriwal resigned and allowed the Congress a backdoor entry to power once again, letting them rule Delhi through the Lieutenant Governor.
“Delhi has already experienced that AAP is the B team of Congress. They first get votes by abusing the Congress and then they form a government using their support. They then do a drama of resignation and the entire government is handed over to the Congress, which is running the Delhi government right now through the Congress-appointed L-G,” said Modi.
The crowd cheered Modi as he attacked and accused AAP of being concerned about the well-being of only the Congress and not other people.
The 24-minute speech of Modi centred around three main issues: AAP, minorities, and the Congress manifesto released on Wednesday.
He cautioned Delhiites to not fall in the same trap again by voting for the AAP and the Congress. Taking a jibe at the national aspirations of Arvind Kejriwal, Modi said: “People of Delhi and this country can forgive you for a mistake but not those who betray them. There is no place for such people in politics”.
Referring to the AAP as an inexperienced lot, he said that democracy required people to be mature. “Congress is using AAP for its own benefits and Delhiiites should vote taking a note of their experience. We don’t want a situation when there is no one to look after Delhi,” he added.
The rally, which saw 25,000 people coming together, was held at Shastri Park, in Northeast constituency. The parliamentary constituency has 22% Muslim population, while Shastri Park has 70% Muslim population.
Criticising lack of development in the trans-Yamuna region, Modi said: Kya yahan ke log insaan nahi hai? (Aren’t residents living in these areas humans too?)”. He said Congress has ruined the Capital of the country.
Modi accused the Congress of using the Muslims as a vote bank. “To improve their economic condition, the prime minister had identified 90 districts where population of Muslims was more than 40 per cent. Even after three years, the funds allocated have not been spent on that project. They have not created a single job for them,” said Modi.
